Meet Our Drivers

It's always pleasant to know who will be driving your car, so here you can meet some of our drivers and place a name to the face that many clients mention in their testimonials.

Here are some of our full time drivers.

1.Steve Day

Steve is the Chairman of  the Move Group which includes Move Your Cars.com and was involved in Formula One and Indy Car racing for over 20 years.

Steve leads with his teams many successful global businesses as well as previously assisting racing drivers to World Championships.

Whilst he's the boss, he likes to still get out on the road and meet clients.

Naturally, he's a very experienced and competent highly trained driver.

Steve has always been a stickler for detail, which he carries into all his business operations, although he does like to talk quite a lot!

Attention to detail is everything to him, including the movement of your car, driven correctly and professionally at all times!

2. Robert Scott

Robert's career before retirement saw him deployed by the Ministry Of Defence across the globe, although mainly stationed at Westland and Leonardo helicopters in Somerset & Italy.

Known as 'Kojak' in the team, for the love of his lolly pops whilst driving and other features!  Robert whilst being a military trained driver, also holds a helicopter licence, not that we deploy our drivers in helicopters!

With a passion for travel and driving Robert tends to bag all the European work as well as the UK.

Yes we found a photo without a lolly pop!

 3. David Holiday

David joined the team several years ago after many years serving in the Paratroop regiment before then becoming a skydiving instructor as well as working for the big fleets of car haulage and car auction sites.

Known as 'Jumpy' in the team, David is a very experienced military trained driver who will totally respect your car at all times, whilst in possession of it.

4. Marcus

Marcus comes with vast experience of driving after being trained by the police whilst working for the government on special security duties that we can't divulge too much!  Although a cup of tea with Marcus can be interesting to say the least!

After retiring from his government duties, Marcus joined the Move Group not only to assist with the logistics of all the cars but also as our driving inspector.

Marcus weekly, travels with many of our part time drivers to inspect their driving skills and ensure they remain up to our standards, as well as teaching new recruits the standards expected by our Chairman.

Marcus is though known as 'Mirrors' within the team, whilst yes he's always looking in his mirrors as a professional driver - his nickname comes from the lads as he's always looking at himself too! - That's probably why in his spare time, he's an actor, or well, we call him an extra!  Although he has appeared in many major films, you wouldn't notice him!

5. Andrew Simmons

Andy, 'The Famous One' - you may remember his face from all the national news stations as he transported the first repatriation flight from China to Brize Norton, as he took them to quarantine at the start of the pandemic.

Andy has worked within the Move Group in many different roles over the years, from shipping in Singapore to head of operations in Europe over seeing the transit of oak furniture across the roadways of the UK, Spain, France, Portugal and Germany.

Although nothing beats his 'fame' at the front of that coach unsuited!

Word of warning! - Don't mention it, when he collects your car, you're be there for hours listening to his famous moment tales!

6. Gary Adamson

Gary served many years in the RAF before joining Move Cars For You, although he did have a gap in between running a bar in Spain and making several appearances on Channel 4's ' New life in the sun' show, although he prefers his life on the road!  Gary still resides in Spain where he carries out much of our European work across Spain, France and Portugal, although he does fly in to see his daughter and pick up some UK jobs as well.

7. Andy Waddell

Andy also served in the RAF where he operated transport logistics all over the globe, after service, he became the transport manager of a Devon furniture company, operating a fleet of lorries across the UK delivering the factories products.

Andy jumped at the chance to join his old wingman Steve at Move Cars For You and once again has become Steve's right hand man in the business.

8. Alex Armstrong

Alex Armstrong, served 20 years in the British Army as a fitness instructor training some of the countries most elite soldiers.

After leaving the Army, he got into the sports world, where he was fitness coach at many clubs as well as becoming a football manager in his own right as well as being Assistant Manager for the New Zealand national team.

Alex met Steve Day, whilst at Cardiff City FC through their sporting connections and formed a long standing friendship ever since.

With a huge passion for cars, it was a no brainer for Alex to joint the team!

We also have a full list of part time drivers too, if you fancy a career driving for the team, feel free to get in touch!
